What Happens If My Music Is Flagged?
If any of your content is flagged — on a DSP, YouTube, or elsewhere — SoSouth will communicate the flag to you directly and work through the appropriate next steps together.
Content can be flagged for a variety of reasons: a third-party copyright claim, a Content ID match on YouTube, a platform policy violation, or a dispute filed by another rights holder. The nature of the flag determines what options are available.
SoSouth monitors distribution activity on your behalf. If a flag is raised against your content, we will notify you and walk through the situation with you directly. Every flag is handled individually — the appropriate course of action depends on the specifics of the claim, and no action will be taken on your behalf without discussing it with you first.
If you become aware of a flag before hearing from us, reach out to your SoSouth representative immediately with as much detail as possible so we can investigate and respond promptly.
