What Is SoSouth's DMCA Policy?

If your content receives a DMCA claim or flag, SoSouth will assist you through the process. However, the sole responsibility for ensuring all clearances are in place before distribution rests with the client.

SoSouth takes copyright compliance seriously. If any content you distribute through SoSouth is flagged or receives a DMCA claim, our team will communicate the situation to you and assist you through the claim process — including reviewing the claim, advising on response options, and coordinating with the relevant platform.

That said, it is the sole responsibility of the client to ensure that all necessary clearances are secured before submitting content for distribution. This includes cleared samples, properly licensed interpolations, co-writer agreements, and any third-party material incorporated into the recording. SoSouth does not pre-screen content for clearance issues prior to delivery.

Submitting content that contains uncleared samples or unlicensed material is a violation of our distribution agreement and may result in takedowns, withheld royalties, or termination of the distribution relationship. When in doubt, do not release until all clearances are confirmed in writing.
